We have recently had an increase in theft of motorbikes in the Bulwell area.
We would like to remind you of some basic steps you can take in order to reduce the risk of your motorbike being stolen.
Where possible try and chain the bike to an immovable object using a chain of Oxford standard, where it is out of sight from passing pedestrians and motorists. If you have access to a garage then take those extra couple of minutes to utilise this secure space to store your bike. If you do not have access to a garage then you may consider purchasing a high quality disc lock or looking at an alarm system. Always ensure gates and doors to your yard, garden or outbuilding are secured and where available that security lighting is working.
On another note, if you see anyone taking a particular interest in the items on peoples driveways and gardens then please report this suspicious behaviour on the Nottinghamshire Police non-emergency contact number,
If you wish to make contact with your local Safer Neighbourhood Team you can visit the website
101, or for emergencies or if you see someone in the process of committing a crime then always dial 999. http://www.nottinghamshire.police.uk/ and put your postcode in half way down the home page. This will take you to your local page with information on the local priority, what is being done to tackle this and all the contact details for your local team. |
